Cassandra's Angel by Gina Otto and illustrated by Trudy Joost

With its uplifting and heartwarming story, Cassandra’s Angel brings an inspiring message of self-empowerment to children of all ages.

It seems like everyone–her mother, her teacher, even other girls and boys–is telling Cassandra that she just can’t do anything right, whether it’s tidying her room or painting a picture. No wonder she feels misunderstood and alone! But then she meets a very special angel who shares a secret that will help Cassandra shine brightly–and light up the world.

The hartwarming and inspiring book tells the story of Cassandra, a young girl who is constantly being told by adults that she can’t do anything right. But after she endures repeated verbal assaults that wear down her spirit, her very own angel visits her and gives her a new perspective on herself and others.

This is a must read book for kids of ALL ages, even adults. I was struck hard by the truths of this books.  Everyone sometimes feels as if they can not do anything right. I even found that I treat my kids the sameway sometimes, and vowed to stop. We have our kids clean thier rooms, help with other chores, we soemtimes forget when the job is complete that they did it to the best of their abilities, but it may not be up to our expectations.

I have worked with Autistic kids, there is one special girl who grab hold of my heart. She always thought she couldn't do anything right. I brought this book to school and read it to her. From the moment I finished she said that she was just like Cassandra, but now she new that if she always did her best that was all that mattered.
