Window Treatments ~ Cutains or Blinds? |

It is going on 13 years my family and I have been in our home. That means it is time for a makeover, actually past due in my opinion. I'm starting in my family room, it's the room we spend the most time in. It's a large room with vaulted ceilings a huge fireplace and two VERY large windows. I love having the big windows, they look out both my front and backyard patios. With such spectacular views I'm having a hard time choosing what kind of window treatments to put up. Currently we have vertical blinds, which are still in great shape so I am considering keeping them. While they are nice it just seems like the room is missing something, face it they look dull. I'd love to be able to find the perfect window curtains to bring the room together. I also need to mention the biggest of the two windows face west, giving us alot of sun all day and strong winds. We live in Michigan so our winters can be rough. Having curtains that allow for plenty of light yet prevent drafts would be ideal. I also have a rather rustic style, the room is full of greens, reds and oranges, so finding the right style and color can be a little difficult. The best place I have come across so far is Brylane Home. They have a wonderful selection of curtains, drapes and valances. Including a energy saving category. They also have all the hardware I will need to install the curtains. With the windows being so large finding rods that are long enough and strong enough I thought would be difficult, but again Brylane Home has just what I need! So just in time for the holidays my family room will have a fresh new look thanks to Brylane Home. |
